How I work
I believe and research shows that the core component of successful therapy is the level of rapport/connection and quality of relationship between the client and therapist. The ability of the client and therapist to work together is more important than the actual model of therapy (e.g. humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, psychoanalytic etc.). This means that it is important to find a psychotherapist or counsellor you feel you can work with. While some people might know straightaway, it can be useful to see more than one therapist for an initial session before deciding who to continue with.
I aim to work in a collaborative, relational way with my clients so that they may gain a deeper understanding of how they relate to themselves and to others and in this way deal with issues or difficulties they may encounter in their lives.
What is Integrative psychotherapy?
Integrative Psychotherapy uses different forms of therapy and I draw from these perspectives in a way that compliments and respects the uniqueness of each client and how they relate. As relationship is the consistent factor in facilitating healing and growth, so how my clients relates both with themselves and others form the core of my therapeutic practice.
Together with developing self-awareness and integration of mind & body, emotion & spirit, Integrative Psychotherapy looks at allowing each person to be more truly and fully themselves.
How it can help?
I provide a facilitative healing space where my clients can explore any issues that may be causing them pain or preventing them from leading a full and satisfying life. Through looking at these creatively in a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic space, clients can find a way and the inner resolve to move forward in their lives.
